Martavis Kee told Rivals.com he hoped this weekend’s visit to Temple would be his first and last official visit to any school recruiting the high school basketball star.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native made his wish come true.

Kee gave Temple’s men’s basketball program a verbal commitment Friday to play under coach Fran Dunphy beginning in the 2007-08 academic year while making his first official visit to the campus. Kee, a 6-3 shooting guard, becomes Dunphy’s first major recruit at Temple.

The Athletic Department cannot comment on Kee until he signs a National Letter of Intent, which he cannot do until November, per NCAA guidelines.

HoopScoop ranks the three-star recruit among Florida’s top 10 seniors. Kee, who averaged 23 points and five rebounds a game last season for Saint Thomas Aquinas High, also garnered offers from Miami, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Marquette.

As part of his visit, Kee took in Temple football’s home opener Saturday, as did Lavoy Allen, another Temple recruit.

Allen, a 6-9 power forward from Fairless Hills, Pa., averaged 12 points and nine rebounds while playing at Pennsbury High last season. He has received offers from Villanova, Saint Joseph’s and Rutgers, among others. Louisiana State, Oklahoma and George Mason have also expressed interest in the three-star recruit.
