College graduates are being recruited by the largest employer in the country: the U.S. government.

Marc Wall, a representative of the U.S. State Department talked to Temple students in Anderson Hall last Thursday about various employment and internship opportunities.

“The U.S. Department of State hires you for a career,” he said. “Not a job.”

Wall, who has spent 30 years with the state department, spoke at event hosted by Diamond Edge Communication, a Temple student-run advertising agency. He spoke to his young audience about a handful of specific programs, including the Fascell Fellowship Program, the Presidential Management Fellows Program and other internships geared towards students. For graduating students, he spoke of foreign service programs.

Yesterday, Temple’s Department of Advertising held an awards ceremony to honor excellence among its students.
