Under the Radar

In honor of Spring Fling, two businesses are holding events to draw the college-aged crowd.

Spring Fling doesn’t have to end when Temple pulls the plug on the festivities and sends in the sanitation crew to literally sweep you off Liacouras Walk. Continue the party at Shampoo Nightclub, which is offering a two-for-one special to Temple students in honor of the biggest school party of the year. All you need is your OWLcard and a buddy to enter. This year, Spring Fling coincides with Nocturne Wednesday, an alternative dance night for all ages. It’s geared toward the gothic and industrial crowd, but all are welcome to attend.

Free in the Plaza Festival
Commonwealth Plaza – Kimmel Center
260 S. Broad St.
April 15 – May 8, free

Spring Fling isn’t just a college campus thing. The Kimmel Center is planning its own Spring Fling with live music, raffles and prizes, discounted ticket offers, happy hour drink specials and tapas selections. The festival is part of the Kimmel Center’s Arts for All initiative that provides free educational programs, community partnerships and free programming in the city. Check the listings at the Kimmel Center Web site for the most up-to-date information on guest performers during the month.
