Almost two weeks ago, the women’s gymnastics team suffered a loss greater than any meet.
They lost a mentor, a motivator, an inspiration and a friend.
Ken Anderson, the women’s gymnastics coach from 1986 to 2006, died March 20. The winningest coach in the program’s history, Anderson, 52, secured 235 wins in his 21-year tenure at Temple.

The women’s tennis team rode a five-game winning streak into its matches against Army and Buffalo at West Point, N.Y. this weekend.
The Owls beat Army, 6-1, Friday and Buffalo, 5-2, Saturday. Temple now holds a 6-2 record this season.

The volleyball team entered Saturday’s game against Fordham by winning seven of its last eight games. That put them in a place to capture the Atlantic Ten Conference East Division crown.

The women’s soccer team faced heavy offensive pressure from the onset of its game against LaSalle Sunday and never recovered.
The Explorers found themselves on top two minutes and 34 seconds into the game, courtesy of a goal by Kristen Hextall. They never looked back from there, beating the Owls, 3-0, at McCarthy Stadium Sunday.
