On Tuesday, October 12th Temple University Concert Choir performed a variety of songs in Rock Hall. The brilliantly performed songs were conducted by Alan Harler, accompanist Elise Auerbach, and by guest conductor, Rollo Dilwoth. Some pieces that were performed that evening by the Concert Choir were Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine by Eric Whiteacre, Trois Chansons series by Claude Debussy, and “Suite” de Lorca by Einojuhani Rautavaara. The Concert Choir even performed two western songs; Buffalo Gals and Green Grows the Lilacs, both of which are by Libby Larsen.  Everyone was graced with a special guest appearance of Rollo Dilwoth, who conducted Roll, Jordan, Roll. It’s an African-American spiritual that articulates the hopes and dreams of fleeing everyday trials and tribulations and going up to heaven. The Temple University Concert Choir has four more upcoming shows on Monday, October 19th, Wednesday, October 28th, Sunday, November 22nd, and Wednesday, December 9th.
