17th and Diamond incident stirs attention

Earlier today, students and residents who live near 17th and Diamond streets found their apartments blocked off by police tape. According to Central Detectives, a resident barricaded himself in his apartment. No Temple students were involved

Earlier today, students and residents who live near 17th and Diamond streets found their apartments blocked off by police tape.

According to Central Detectives, a resident barricaded himself in his apartment.

No Temple students were involved in the incident, but both the 1700 block and 1600 block of Diamond Street were blocked off for a period time.

Sophomore Tia Confer said, “I left my apartment around 2:30 and as I drove down Diamond I saw that the 1700 block of Diamond Street was blockaded. When I arrived back at approximately 3:30 I found that the 1600 block of Diamond Street was also completely blocked by police and was told I had to evacuate the area until further notice.”
