Kellar, Pavone lead Owls in conference championship

Owls compete in first-ever American Athletic Conference Championship.

Seniors Will Kellar and Anna Pavone led the Owls in their races on Saturday at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championship in Madison, Conn.

Kellar finished the race in 21st place with a time of 24:34. Freshmen Ryan Debarberie and Owen Glatts placed 41st and 43rd respectively. The men’s squad finished seventh of the eight teams that raced in the event. Louisville won in the team standings, as the top two finishes were by Cardinal runners.

Pavone continues what is becoming the best season of her Temple career, leading the women’s team with her 18th place finish (21:33.89). Junior Jenna Dubrow followed, placing 23rd. The women’s team placed eighth out of the 10 teams that competed in the event. SMU finished first in the team standings.

The teams will next compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on Nov. 15 at Lehigh.
