Owls compete in Armory Collegiate Invitational

Two men and one woman made the trip to New York.

Temple sent a few athletes up to New York for the Armory Collegiate Invitation on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-8.

“It was a big meet but we only had a handful of athletes that competed.” coach Eric Mobley said. “Overall their performances were solid and we take these meets as opportunities to get better.”

Among those performances was a personal-best 7.92 for freshman Bionca St. Fleur in the 60m dash, which was good enough to place 32nd. Also in the 60m dash, senior Alimamy Kallay recorded his best time of the season with a 7.21 to finish in 31st place.

“We continue to work on some things, we had a [personal record] in the 60m dash and senior Dylan Pensyl and Jamal Williams continue to work,” said Mobley.

Pensyl and Williams both participated in the Long Jump. Pensyl recorded a mark of 6.59m while Williams jumped 6.33m.

Mobley added, “As our competition gets better our team needs to realize that in order to be successful they need to push themselves to the limit during practices and in the weight room.”

Both teams next head to the Iowa State University for the Iowa State Classic on Feb. 14-15th.
