Sports Rewind: Field Hockey, Soccer

FIELD HOCKEY Junior midfielder Alli Lokey was named to the Atlantic Ten Conference First Team for the second consecutive season. Lokey led the team with a career-high 10 goals while recording a team-high 24 points.

Junior midfielder Alli Lokey was named to the Atlantic Ten Conference First Team for the second consecutive season. Lokey led the team with a career-high 10 goals while recording a team-high 24 points.

Junior defender Ashley Bird, sophomore midfielder Mary Catherine Kinneman and freshman forward Charise Young received A-10 Second Team honors for the first time.

Bird tallied five points this season, while Kinneman amassed 10 points and Young, who was also named to the All-Rookie team with forward Mandi Ruth, collected 14 points.
Sophomore midfielder Leanne Vogelsong was the lone member to receive an Honorable Mention Team. Sophomore forward Liz Watto joined Bird and Kinneman on the All-Academic Team.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Sophomore back Cori Gallagher earned A-10 Honorable Mention honors. Gallagher played an essential role in Temple’s defense this season. As a defensive player with limited scoring opportunities, Gallagher contributed one goal this season to earn her first A-10 honor.

The Owls ended their season Oct. 29 with a 1-0 triumph over Saint Bonaventure at Ambler Complex, concluding the season 4-14 overall and 1-8 in the A-10.

MEN’S SOCCER

Senior defender Ryan Heins received A-10 Second Team honors to end his career on a high note. A starter for his entire four-year career, Heins accumulated 25 career points, with four of them coming this season. Heins was the Owls’ lone representative to receive postseason honors.

In a season in which the Owls struggled to get on the scoreboard, Heins managed one goal and two assists. The Owls ended the season Oct. 29 with a 3-2 loss to Saint Bonaventure which dropped their record to 2-14 overall and 1-8 in the A-10.
