10-year-old shot near Health Sciences Campus

A girl who was caught in the crossfire during a shooting is in stable condition at Temple University Hospital, police said.

A 10-year-old girl was shot once in her left arm on Thursday evening when she was caught in the crossfire after two men opened fire on each other during an argument, police said.

Philadelphia Police said the shooting occurred at 6 p.m. on the 3100 block of Rosewood Street near Allegheny Avenue, south of the Health Sciences Campus.

The girl was transported to Temple University Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, said Charlie Leone, executive director of Campus Safety Services.

An earlier email from police said no weapons had been recovered from the scene and arrests had not yet been made.
