Men’s Basketball Senior guard David Hawkins added to his accolades after earning the Palumbo Award for being the top scorer in the Big Five. Hawkins, who led the Atlantic Ten in scoring with 24.4 points

Senior guard David Hawkins added to his accolades after earning the Palumbo Award for being the top scorer in the Big Five. Hawkins, who led the Atlantic Ten in scoring with 24.4 points per game, was also named to first team all-Big Five. Sophomore guard Mardy Collins was selected to the second team.

Football

No Owls were selected in the annual NFL draft for the first time since 2000, but wide receiver Zamir Cobb signed a free-agent rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cobb is the school’s single-season reception holder and career punt return average leader. This past season he set another school-record with 74 receptions and 866 yards.

Women’s Tennis

Danira Penic made Atlantic Ten history when she was named the conference’s Most Outstanding Performer for the second consecutive year. She won all three matches at the tourney to lead the Owls to a third-place finish.
Penic and teammate Anna Maslesa were named to the all-conference team.

Lacrosse

For the second straight week Temple had the top lacrosse player in the conference when sophomore midfielder Corey Leader was named the A-10 Player of the Week. Leader had a sensational week with 10 goals and three assists.
The Owls finished the regular season with a share of the conference title. Leader led the squad with 19 assists and was second with 34 goals. Temple does not play until the A-10 tournament, which begins on May 7 at St. Bonaventure.
