The deployment of 2944 troops will start on 15 Aug 04 and run for about 7 days until all the troops are merged together from all over Texas at Fort Hood to form the 56th Brigade Combat Team. On 15 Aug 2004, 81 of these soldiers will meet at the Battalion HQ in Austin to say goodbye to their families. Soldiers will arrive at 2001 E 51st Street, Austin, TX 78723 no later then 1200 hrs. A formal departure ceremony will be held at 4 pm at the Armory on 51st Street. News media are invited to attend and report of the soldiers departure.
