The Butterfly Effect is an edge-of-your-seat thrill ride from beginning to end. When you think the ride is over and begin to relax, it starts back up again.
Ashton Kutcher (Punk’d, Dude Where’s My Car, That ’70s Show) plays the main character, Evan Treborn. He is also one of the executive producers. Kutcher plays alongside Amy Smart (Road Trip, Varsity Blues) who is his childhood sweetheart in the movie.
At 7, Evan blacks out during some horrible childhood moments and when he finally comes back to consciousness, he had no idea what happened.
He is told to keep a daily journal by his psychiatrist in hopes of restoring the missing segments of his life.
Then, as a college student, he goes back to those journals hoping to find the answers to his missing links. But little does he know that finding the answers to these suppressed memories of his horrid childhood could be the end of life as he knows it.
The movie is 113 minutes long and rated ‘R’. There are some extremely graphic and brutal scenes. If you are looking for a good suspense-thriller, The Butterfly Effect is the movie for you to see.
The film is written and directed by J. Mackye Gruber and Eric Bess who also wrote Final Destination 2.
The movie trailers on the Internet and TV do this movie no justice, so the best thing to do is just see for yourself.
