I agree with your article [“Religious leaders: Katrina sent by God as punishment,” Sept. 6] 100 percent. Why is it that there has to be a manipulative agenda to these “leaders’” beliefs? Instead of helping

I agree with your article [“Religious leaders: Katrina sent by God as punishment,” Sept. 6] 100 percent.

Why is it that there has to be a manipulative agenda to these “leaders'” beliefs? Instead of helping these victims of Hurricane Katrina in their time of need and helping with the anguish and suffering, they are putting forth negative opinions not meant to help.

While I agree that they have the right to speak their minds, it just boggles my mind at how warped their thinking can be. It also frustrates me that they would preach such hatefulness at a time when people should be uniting.
