Twenty-five people are facing charges in connection with drug trafficking in the Philadelphia area, including one student who was charged with buying drugs for resale at West Chester University and one man who allegedly was involved with the selling of drugs on Main Campus, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
Temple student Zachary Rosenn, 21, of Huntington Valley allegedly ordered large quantities of pills to sell on West Chester’s campus, according to the Attorney General’s office. Rosenn is registered for classes this fall, according to the university.
Rosenn, who is listed as a student in the College of Liberal Arts in Temple’s directory, is facing, among other charges, participating in a corrupt organization, possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone and criminal conspiracy.
Roman Shekhtman, 22, of Huntingdon Valley, was allegedly involved in the sale of pills at Temple and is facing numerous charges that include possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone. He last took classes at Temple in Spring 2012.
Dominique Simmons, 20, of Philadelphia allegedly was involved with selling pills on Cheyney’s campus.
The men involved with selling drugs on college campuses, the attorney general’s office said, conducted on-campus drug sales to informants or undercover agents.
The charges come after an eight-month grand jury investigation that found Thomas Donnelly, 33, of Exton to be the central figure in the drug ring. According to the Attorney General’s Office, Donnelly and his associates distributed more than 700 pills including OxyContin, Oxycodone and Zanax, along with cocaine and marijuana, between September 2011 and March 2012.
The defendants in the case will be prosecuted in Chester County by Chief Deputy Attorney General Andrew M. Ronagaus and Deputy Attorney General Katherine Corbett Gibson.
