MEN’S GYMNASTICS

The Owls finished third out of four squads with a team score of 199.500 at the West Point Open in New York Friday. Sophomore John Vogtman led the way with solid performances of 8.550 on the pummel horse and 9.100 on the floor exercise. Also sparking the Owls was junior Luke Vexler who completed the floor exercise with a score of 9.100.

MEN’S TENNIS

Opening the season on the right foot, the Owls soared past the Saint Francis Terriers
7-0 at the Cheltenham Tennis Club Sunday. In the singles matches, Philip Gegenheimer, Zach Tobias, and Pavlos Stephanides cruised with two set victories and didn’t allow their opponents to win a single game. The team’s next test comes Saturday at 1 p.m. when they travel to Swarthmore.

WOMEN’S FENCING

The ninth-ranked Owls managed a 3-3 tournament record over the weekend at the Penn State Invitational. Losses came to nationally ranked teams Penn State, Saint Johns and Ohio State. Junior Samantha Myles (8-5) and freshman Melissa Parker (7-6) provided strong showings.
