Students don’t thank heaven for 7-Eleven

Although the bare minimum of college living is covered by campus’ 7-Eleven, students have plenty of reason to order groceries for delivery from the local Genaurdi’s.

The two 7-Elevens on campus are lacking in some basic food items that students need (Stephen Zook/TTN).

Philadelphia as a whole doesn’t have a shortage of supermarkets. You can find a Pathmark by Lehigh Avenue, a Superfresh and Whole Foods on South Street and many options off Columbus Boulevard.
Since none exist in the immediate area surrounding Temple’s campus, students’ only option for any sort of fresh groceries is 7-Eleven. But even still, there are many necessities that even the convenience of 7-Eleven cannot fulfill.

Things like fresh produce, meats and most fruits are nowhere to be found in the convenience-store confines of 7-Eleven. Also missing are cheeses, bagels, pizza shells, spices and pancake and cake mixes.
