Students protest controversial anti-Islam speakers

Stop Islamization of America speakers ignited student debate.

Stop Islamization of America speakers ignited student debate.

Student group Temple University Purpose is no stranger to controversy, which was evident as the organization was protested once again for an event it sponsored Thursday, Oct. 7.

TU Purpose invited Stop Islamization of America founders Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller to speak at the Student Center about Park51, the controversial proposed mosque at ground-zero in New York.

TU Purpose was the center of wide-spread controversy last year when it invited Dutch politician Geert Wilders, also known for speaking against Islam, to speak on Main Campus.

Lilian Wehbe, a senior sociology and political science major and member of the on-campus International Socialist Organization, which led the protest of the TU Purpose event, said TU Purpose’s actions in bringing anti-Islamic speakers to campus is not a coincidence.

“We were the leading organizers around this event today, to protest Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer and especially TU Purpose for bringing anti-Islamic speakers here the second year in a row,” Wehbe said. “This is by no means a coincidence.”

“The speech that Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer leads is hate speech, not free speech,” Wehbe added.

Alvaro Watson, the president of TU Purpose, said the event was intended to open dialogue on Main Campus about the mosque.

“[The intent was] to explore the nature and implications behind the ground-zero mosque from one point of view, since the second point of view was shot down,” the first-year graduate sociology major said.

Watson said the event was one-sided, but only because the Muslim Students Association refused to take part by providing a speaker from the opposing viewpoint.

“Before this semester began, I reached out to Heidar [Albandar], the president of the Temple University Muslim Students Association,” Watson said. “I wanted to have at least two sides to this event.”

“I find it more appropriate to have the MSA come up with their speaker. So I reached out to him, and we met up, and we discussed the possibility of co-hosting an event,” Watson said. “He wanted nothing to do with it.”

While Watson said the MSA’s providing of a speaker would have been ideal, he still sees the event as a success.

“A heated discussion, that’s a sign [that] you’ve gotten people to think, to want to engage in discussion, to want to know what is going on,” he said.

Watson said he anticipated protestors at the event.

“That’s your right, I respect you for that,” he said. “To me, that shows that you care about something, regardless of whether or not we see eye-to-eye on it.”

However, Watson said the protestors were not respectful in their tactics, such as calling TU Purpose members “bigots.”

“They were saying that we wanted to get rid of all Muslims, all Arabs … not at all,” Watson said. “Perhaps Wilders said that in his speech last year.”

Charles Brown, a freshman ISO member who was present at the protest, said TU Purpose was promoting anti-Islamic feelings.

“At Temple, we don’t want bigots here. We respect everyone. We don’t want to have a group that promotes anti-Islamic feelings or anti-Arab feelings. Temple should welcome everyone, and we want to show that we are not a racist community,” Brown said. “We love our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

Watson said the Religious Studies Club suggested TU Purpose and the MSA give each other clearance or approval of speakers before bringing them, or even pick each other’s speakers, which he called ridiculous.

“They’re insane, they’re in la-la land,” he said.

“I think that’s what Temple University is, including the Religious Studies Club, a Disney experience,” Watson said. “They think everything is just going to be OK, if you just leave it alone.”

However, Wehbe said the message Geller and Spencer preach only promotes discrimination against Muslims across the United States.

“They are dehumanizing and demonizing billions of people for the actions of 19 individuals, 14 individuals of which were from Saudi Arabia, which is our great ally,” she said.

“These things have to be questioned,” Wehbe continued, “because this dehumanization process is strategic in legitimizing the wars abroad and the billions of dollars spent on the wars abroad, and the soldiers dying and the civilians dying.”

“People minimize it to there were 17 [hijackers] that took down the towers … [so] how can you blame … an entire religion because of 17 hijackers? And true, that’s a valid point, but you don’t know how many there are out there,” Watson said.

Watson said despite protestors’ claims, TU Purpose is not an anti-Islamic organization.

“I think it’s unfortunate for others to think that [we may appear anti-Islamic],” Watson said. “I can see why they may think that, but it’s unfortunate, because we are completely not.”

  1. “Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.” (Koran 9:29)

  2. It appears to be that Temple News is not different to the rest of the university; everyone has bias and they are against anyone who wants to present a different side than that that the institution and their liberal force prefer and/or approve.

Temple News did not mention what those of us who attended to this event heard from all the Socialist groups that were present–by the way, it was a very small protest–as for example calling Jewish individuals who came to the event, “Jewish pigs,” and to everyone else who walked by the protesters to attend the event, they called them “right wing bigots.”

We commend the student organization Temple University Purpose for having the courage to lead with their example regardless of how they are attacked by all the Socialist and others who hide behind the Socialist banner.

Temple University Purpose have reached out to other groups as the MSA when they have these kinds of speakers but they always refuse to participate using multiple excuses; they want to give the impression that they do not get included and that TU Purpose is anti-Islamic, which is NOT true.

We are proud of you TU Purpose!!! Keep up the great work, Temple University and Liberals have so much to learn.

Free speech is for all and not only for those who agree with you.

Someone who expose radical Islam is not a bigot.

Someone who has a different point of view is not the enemy; but the ones who commit terrorists attacks are our enemies, and when we said this we are not attacking all Muslims. Stop twisting what is being said only because it helps you to advance your agendas.

  3. 4. “What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it doesn’t exist.” – Sir Salman Rushdie

Muslims are offended? So what. This is America, not a Muslim theocracy, Thank God.

Islam is not above criticism. Islam is not above satire, mockery, and ridicule. Freedom of Speech trumps Muslims’ “hurt feelings” every time.

Bravo/a to Mr. Spencer, Ms. Geller, and Geert Wilders for telling the truth about Islam. The ignorant Leftists like to hide behind their ridiculous buzz words like “bigotry” and “racism” and “hate” (those have gotten really old, Lefties, can’t you come up with something new?) when it’s Islam that is a racist (Jew-hating) bigoted intolerant hate-filled misogynist genocidal (“Kill the Infidels”) political ideology masquerading as a religion.

Islam “demonizes” itself, Ms. Wehbe, it does a fine job of that itself.

Islam mandates the mass-murder of all non-Muslims until Islam rules and allah their moon god is the only deity worshipped:

“Kill non-Muslims wherever you find them. Lie in wait and ambush
them, seize and capture them using every stratagem of war.” –
    Qur’an 9:5

“Fight then against them till strife be at an end, and the religion
    be all of it Allah’s.” – Qur’an 8:40

Islam is a War/Conquest political ideology invented by a Warlord in the 7th century AD (No, Muslims, everyone was NOT “once Muslim,” Good God the absurdity, the sheer idiocy of believing that obvious lie). Islam has nothing whatsoever to do with peace. You want “hate?” Read the Koran, which is nothing but an open-ended declaration of war against all non-Muslims.

You protesters’ are so ignorant about Islam it’s unbelievable. Spencer/Geller/Wilders are all truth-tellers’ about Islam and should be welcomed to campus instead of being disparaged by the Muslims and their Apologists – just what are you afraid of? Oh I know – the truth about barbaric free-speech-hating Jew/Christian-hating supremacist totalitarian hegemonic Islam.

The TN has been known to censor un-PC comments about Muslims/Islam. My comment clearly falls under American Freedom of Speech – so don’t go all Orwell and delete it. Thank You.

  5. “Islam wasn’t hijacked by a few radicals on 9/11 … the only thing that was hijacked were commercial airliners by 19 Muslims who followed the edicts of the Koran to the letter.” – Walid Shoebat, former Palestinian Terrorist, Convert to Christianity, and Supporter of Israel.

Islam can be critically examined just as any other subject matter can be critically examined.

If Muslims weren’t so afraid of non-Muslims finding out what Islam is all about – Jihad against non-Muslims until Islam achieves world hegemony – they wouldn’t be trying to muzzle and silence Islam’s truth-telling critics such as Spencer, Geller, and Wilders.

The Demographic Jihad is well-under-way in Europe. You want the charming and wonderful European countries to lose their cultural identities and become oppressive, misogynist, and totalitarian Islamic cesspools? You want the same for America in 300 years? Well, just keep letting the Mohammedans’ in then:

“One day, millions of men will leave the Southern Hemisphere to go to the Northern Hemisphere. And they will not go there as friends. Because they will go there to conquer it. And they will conquer it with their sons. The wombs of our women will give us victory.”

    – Houari (Mohamed) Boumedienne, President of Algeria, 1965 – 1978, in a 1974 speech at the UN

“The speech that Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer leads (sic) is hate speech, not free speech,” Wehbe added. (from article above)

You are so ignorant. The hate speech is the Koran, is Islam. Of course you’ve never read the Koran, right? You don’t know what you’re talking about. Good God – you’re a senior? Temple has truly declined in it’s standards for academic excellence.

Of course Spencer and Geller’s speech is free speech! People CAN disapprove of or “hate” things and speak freely about them, you know. Take Nazism, for example. Don’t you “hate” it? Of course you do. But, don’t say anything negative about it or criticize it, Lilian, or that’ll be “hate speech!” And we certainly wouldn’t want to offend the Nazis!

Lilian, if you dare to criticize or speak negatively of Nazis and Nazism I’m going to call you on your “hate speech!”

Oh, btw, Brilliant Lilian – I hate carrots. Oops! That’s not free speech, that’s “hate speech!” Ignoramus. Where’s Lilian’s PC Police?! You are right out of Orwell, you know that?

  6. Geller’s speech, Spencer’s speech, and the speech of the rightwing comments here (although clearly protected by the 1st Amendment) is the kind that leads to violence against Arabs and Muslims. The 50-60 protesters that came out on Thursday night exercised their 1st Amendment rights and stood against the racist lies sponsored by TU Purpose, and they stood in defense of Arabs and Muslims at Temple.

You can find damning quotes from all religious texts, but the important thing is how people practice their religion, the way people live their lives. The hijackers on 9/11 practiced a form of Islam that is the minority view of Muslims, just as extremist Christians who murder abortion doctors are a minority of Christians, and right-wing Zionists who seek the ethnic cleansing of all Palestinians from Israel are a minority of Jews (all use their religions to justify their heinous actions). But speakers like Geller and Spencer (and commenters on this blog) put blame on the entire religion itself, as well as immigrants from largely Muslim countries, who are people of color. You are calling an entire religion the enemy, an entire religious text the enemy, you are calling entire nations of Arab people the enemy. That’s why this is racist ideology, that’s why this is bigoted. You stand with people like Geert Wilders who would deport all Muslims. You stand with organizations like the English Defense League with ties to fascist organizations in Britain. You stand with wholly racist ideology, and your ideas encourage violence against anyone who looks Arab or Muslim.

Hate crimes on Arabs and Muslims is on the rise in the U.S. A taxi driver in NYC was stabbed when a passenger asked “are you Muslim?” and the driver said “yes.” There are acts of arson against Mosques across the U.S. Burnt Korans have been found from Florida to California.

Bigoted ideas about Islam are used to justify ongoing wars against Muslim countries in the middle east. Racist rhetoric about clash of civilizations has always been put out there by imperialist powers to justify their conquest abroad. Most recently this has been used by George Bush, and is continued by Barrack Obama, to provide cover for their wars for control over the region (and control over the oil). And when the rightwing takes these ideas and runs with them, it is up to anti-racists to stand up to them, because our leaders will not take on Islamophobia. Lies about, and fear of, Islam is needed to provide cover for the continuing occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, and the bombings in Pakistan. That’s why it’s so important we protest speakers like Geller and Spencer.

Protesters did not try to shut the event down. They did not prevent people from going inside to listen to these nuts. There is no attempt to stop speech. There is an attempt to counter the racist lies coming from these speakers’ mouths. Commenters on this blog needed to make up outright lies that there were anti-Semitic words coming from protesters. No protesters called anyone “Jewish pigs.” Temple News didn’t write about this because it simply didn’t happen. The organizers of this protest stand against racism in all its forms. If a racist anti-Jewish speaker were brought to Temple, we would protest that racist hate speech as well, because we are principled anti-racists. You are simply bigots, so you need to make up lies to back up your arguments because your arguments don’t stand up by themselves.

I’m proud of the fact that Temple students and Philadelphians came out to counter Geller’s and Spencer’s rightwing agenda (which is a threat to us all), to defend religious freedom, and to call these speakers for what they are: bigots.

  7. “Geller’s speech, Spencer’s speech, and the speech of the rightwing comments here (although clearly protected by the 1st Amendment) is the kind that leads to violence against Arabs and Muslims.” – leftwing Matt, above

Oh, really? And what “violence” is that? The only “violence” I’ve heard of is Muslims’ violence and murder and mass-murder of non-Muslims.

The “racists” are the Jew/Christian-hating Muslims. The charge of “racism” is extremely tired, but the Left is so intellectually bankrupt that Leftist writers can’t think of anything else to say, like leftwing Matt here.

Of course the “entire religion” Islam is responsible for the mass-murdering Jihads’ perpetrated by it’s brainwashed, deluded, pathetic followers’. Islam mandates mass-murder of all non-Muslims until Islam rules and allah their moon god is the only deity worshipped. Anyone who doesn’t know that is just plain ignorant about the political ideology Islam, like leftwing Matt.

How many times does Laughable Matt hide behind the buzz words “racist” and “bigot” and “racism” and “bigotry?” LOL! It’s the Muslims and Islam that are the racists and the bigots and racism and bigotry, you poor ignorant fool.

Oh, the taxi-driver incident in NY? A LEFT-WING MOONBAT SUPPORTER OF THE 9/11 JIHAD VICTORY MOSK DID IT! Don’t you know that? lol

There’s no such thing as “Islamophobia!” A phobia is an irrational fear, whereas it’s entirely rational to fear mass-murdering Islam and it’s doctrine of Islamic Jihad, which is Islamic Holy War against all “Infidels” (non-Muslims), such as you, Matt! You’re a stupid fool.

You and your fellow leftwing protesters’ are the nuts!

My God! The ONLY words poor pitiful leftwing Matt knows are “racists” and “bigots!” HA-HA! Any way you can improve your limited vocabulary, leftwing Matt? No? I didn’t think so! You want racism and bigotry? READ THE JEW/CHRISTIAN-HATING KORAN. Which, of course, you haven’t done!

You bigot Matt. On the side of the bigoted Mohammedans. You racist, bigot, hater, Matt! You like those words? Well – they describe you, an Islamic Apologist, and the hate-filled people you defend. You’re just an “infidel” to the Mohammedans’ Matt – don’t you know that? They don’t give a **** about you! You’re nothing but a “useful idiot” to the Muslims. Don’t know what a “useful idiot” is? See: Lenin.

Poor Leftwing Temple protesters! Poor misguided fools – defending a 7th century AD political ideology that hates their guts!

Bravo/a Spencer and Geller and Wilders! BRAVO/A! Thank you for telling the truth about hate-filled mass-murdering Islam, for which you have to live in undisclosed locations and have security guards present as members of the “religion of peace” might try to kill you, just as they did Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam, and the Mohammed Cartoonists’ in Denmark, and the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl in barbaric Pakistan, and the Jews in the Islamic Jihad of Mumbai, and the 3,000 Americans on 9/11, and all of the other copious mass-murdering Islamic Jihads in London, Madrid, Beslan, Glasgow, Bali, and Ft. Hood in Texas.

Defending Islam/Muslims is a threat to us all, as Islam is not a religion, but a Fascist/Nazi political ideology invented by a psycho pedophile polygamist self-declared “prophet” (lol – never prophesied nuthin’) in 7th century AD Arabia.

You’re a bigot, Matt! Bigot, bigot, bigot – just as the repellent Jew/Christian-hating mass-murder political ideology you defend is racist and bigoted and nothing but Hate directed at all non-Muslims.

Temple protesters: Shame on you, you stupid fools. You Know-Nothings’ about Islam. Why don’t you just defend Fascism and Nazism. And you probably would.

  8. Man, this SK person is really unhinged. To talk about leftists supporting fascism is laughable. Currently and historically we are polar opposites. But SK has been off his/her meds for so long that the fact that people like Wilders and the EDL have far more in common with real world fascism than Islam in general. And yes, when you generalize from the actions of a minority to over a billion people that’s bigotry. Other than these points this diatribe of hate, lies and misconception is a real yawner. I suggest SK head out to rural PA where he/she can find a Klan meeting at which they could feel quite at home.

  9. Man, this Joe person is really clueless. To deny the Leftist nature of fascism is pernicious nonsense. For those who wish to explore the subject in greater depth, a useful recent resource would be a book by an expert on Italian Fascism: “The Faces of Janus: Marxism and Fascism in the 20th Century”, by A. James Gregor.
    http://www.amazon.com/Faces-Janus-Marxism-Fascism-Twentieth/dp/0300106025

Gregor exhaustively demonstrates that Fascism and Nazism modelled their methods on the atheistic Marxism of Lenin and Stalin; and that the Fascist idea of adding nationalism to socialism was later taken up by Stalin and Mao— so that (in the end) Fascism and Communism were merely twin atheistic Marxist sects. Thus, during the era of their big confrontation, Soviet Russia and Maoist China were perfectly correct in accusing one-another of being “fascists.”

That’s one big steaming pile of corpses your dogs left in history’s living room. Own it, Joe.

  10. Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller are charlatans trying to scam dumb
racist some money, they are selling books, asking donation from their
news letters. This Islam bashing is their bread and butter and as long as
there are suckers buying their crab they will continue.
If no one is buying Islam bashing, they will move on to the next trend of hate.

There is a sucker born…now they are running around collages and trying to
sucker poor students, because the grown ups are not buying their crab!

  11. Thanks “Fascism is Leftist” for putting ‘ol unhinged “Joe” in his place! Hey Joe – ran out of lithium or something? Please call your mental-health professional asap for your much-needed rx, as you seem to be suffering from the Stupid disease. In addition, you wouldn’t know the truth(s) about Muslims/Islam if they/it flew commercial jetliners into your abode. You’re that stupid. Oh, you’re a bigot and a racist, too. Oh yeah – and a hater. Don’t want to leave that Leftist gem out!

You’re a real yawner, Joe Shmo. All you do is parrot the obligatory PC buzz words you Leftists’ can’t do without because you have no informed and educated arguments about barbaric Islam – please, invest in a vocabulary builder! Finally, so, when’s your next Klan meeting? As the Koran is nothing but a Handbook of Hate, the KKKoran. Why don’t you check it out and see, Clueless Joe?

This is the only thing ‘ol Joe “owns,” Fascism is Leftist – Stupidity.

  12. Oh boy here comes the brilliant “blossom” with her poor spelling! It’s spelled “college,” not “collage,” erudite blossom!

And the rest of her comment is as correct as her spelling.

Bash Islam! America has freedom of speech (Islamic countries do not), and any American can “bash” ANYTHING they feel merits bashing! Newsflash – did you know that, blossom?! After studying the texts and tenets of Islam, and observing the violent/mass-murdering behavior of the brainwashed followers’ of Mohammed the Warlord false “prophet,” anyone would agree that Islam is as deserving of “bashing” as Fascism and Nazism.

You’re so ignorant, blossom. You remind me of Joe Shmo above.

Spencer and Geller and Wilders – TRUTH-TELLERS about barbaric Islam.

Oh, you’re sadly mistaken about the “grown-ups” blossom – Spencer’s books are NYT Best Seller’s – and that ain’t “poor students'” making them so.

How old are you, about 10? Perhaps you could correct your “crab” spelling, too! That’s effin’ hilarious.

  13. I am curious as to how adamant these “non-racists” are in believing that they are non-racists…I am also amused at how often they quote from the Koran in relation to murders…What, I’m curious, would they have to say about the expulsion or ethnic cleansing of nearly 700,000 Palestinians from their homeland in 1948. Please, stop me if I’m wrong. You can’t construe this unfortunate reality…it’s a fact.
“As Israeli-born Jewish historian Ilan Pappé writes in A History of Modern Palestine: ‘Out of about 850,000 Palestinians living in the territories designated by the UN as a Jewish state, only 160,000 remained [by 1949] on or nearby their land and homes. Those who remained became the Palestinian minority in Israel. The rest were expelled or fled under the threat of expulsion, and a few thousand died in massacres'” (Socialistworker.org).
Hmm???? Are these murders irrelevant to the commentators above? Not racists or fascists? Hmm??

  14. There’s no such thing as “Palestinians”:

“March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here’s what he said:

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”

The Arab governments never sought a Palestinian state because it would mean accepting Israel.”

    Well…Did you read? Hmm????

“Palestinians” are Jordanians and Syrians squatting on ancient Jewish lands.

Ah boo-hoo! And 6 million civilized and productive Jews were killed in the Nazi Holocaust. Muslims fought on the side of Hitler. Ah boo-hoo! The poor billions of over-breeding Mohammedans. There’s just not enough of them, is there?

The benighted Middle East is wholly Islamic save Israel. But of course the Jew-hating racist/bigoted Muslims want Israel for their own, too, to achieve “Arab unity” (see above quote). Bullies, Mohammedans, bullies and thugs. Haters. LEAVE ISRAEL ALONE.

Oh Wifey – The Islamic Jihadists’ quote from the Koran THEMSELVES to justify their mass-murder of non-Muslims:

“Kill non-Muslims wherever you find them. Lie in wait and ambush
them, seize and capture them using every stratagem of war.” –
    Qur’an 9:5

“Fight then against them till strife be at an end, and the religion
    be all of it Allah’s.” – Qur’an 8:40

“Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their
goods; for theirs in return is the garden of Paradise: they fight
in his cause and slay and are slain.” – Qur’an 9:111

MUSLIMS quote the above Jihad verses to justify their slaughters’/massacres’ of non-Muslims. Do I have to repeat that again, or do you get it? So, your “amusement” comes at the expense of 3,000 Americans mass-murdered by Islamic Jihad (see: Koran), as well as all the other dead victims of Islamic Jihad. And you find that “amusing?” You’re kind of immoral, aren’t you?

  15. You hear that, everybody? There are no such thing as Palestinians. Just put the Arabs on cattle cars and sent them to Syria! Brilliant!

  16. Lenin: This may come as news to you, but Islam is not a race. It’s a backward desert religion. Attacking Islam is about as racist as attacking national socialism, another despicable ideology. Or communism.

The supposed Palestinians that you mention (don’t forget that Arafat was born in Egypt) were not “cleansed” from the land. They left of their own accord. Socialistworker.org? Puh-leeze. Why do communists hate Jews so much? Don’t you know that many of the people you admire were Jews? Like Trotsky (real name: Leon Bronstein).

On the other hand, during the Six Day War, many hundreds of thousands of Jews were expelled from Arab countries. Of course, you don’t mention that. Nor do you mention the worldwide terrorist campaign by Palestinians against Israelis, and even against Jews who had nothing to do with Israel. Like Leon Klinghoffer, an elderly, handicapped Jew celebrating his wedding anniversary on a ship that was hijacked by the PLO – after which he was killed and thrown into the sea.

Long live Israel. Long live Western civilization. Long live Geert Wilders. Down with Islam.

  17. Lenin: This may come as news to you, but Islam is not a race. It’s a religion and an ideology. Attacking Islam is about as racist as attacking other ideologies, like national socialism or communism, or other religions, like Christianity.

The supposed Palestinians that you mention (don’t forget that Arafat was born in Egypt) were not “cleansed” from the land. They left of their own accord. Socialistworker.org? Puh-leeze. Don’t they know that many important ‘socialists’ were Jews? Like Trotsky (real name: Leon Bronstein).

Long live Israel. Long live Western civilization. Long live Geert Wilders.

  18. Moderator, exactly what offends you about my comment, that you keep removing it? The facts I describe?

  19. Oh, so now asking (in a civil manner) why a comment was removed is so offensive to the moderator that he removes the questioning comment. My question stands though. Moderator, why did you remove my post – what was so offensive about it to you?

  20. Bravo Dutch Patriot!

The PC MC Orwellian Censorers’ deleted your RIGHT-ON comments? No surprise! There’s no free speech against Barbaric Islam on the TN!

“What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it doesn’t exist.” – Sir Salman Rushdie

    Do you get it, TN?

Let me repeat this for poor ignorant PC “Jack” (***) above:

“March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here’s what he said:

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. The Arab governments never sought a Palestinian state because it would mean accepting Israel.”

Do you get it, “Jack” ***?

“Long live Israel. Long live Western civilization. Long live Geert Wilders. Down with Islam.” – Dutch Patriot

How ya like that, Moderator? You disagree? Then go live in Yemen. Goodbye and Good Riddance – you don’t deserve to live in the USA. Go join your barbarian Mohammedan pals! (Note: Free Speech doesn’t exist in Islamic Cesspools, Moderator, so know ahead of time that you cannot criticize nuthin’ in Yemen!)

Gee, I wonder why all the Muslims at Temple don’t stay in their own countries? Got an answer for that, Moderator?

Oh, and “Jack” – concerning your idiotic “cattle cars” comment – Muslims FOUGHT ON THE SIDE OF HITLER, GET IT? ON THE SIDE OF HITLER. YOU STUPID IMBECILE.

  21. Educate yourselves. Gilbert Ashcar’s recent book http://www.amazon.com/Arabs-Holocaust-Arab-Israeli-War-Narratives/dp/0805089543/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1287004115&sr=8-1 shows the complexity in Arab and Muslim attitude to the Holocaust. It was hardly monolithic. It is a myth that Muslims fought on the side of Hitler. Just a silly statement as is the idea that Marxism and fascism are related. You have to do a lot of selective quoting a real case of historical amnesia to make that claim. That’s why the book cited is a farce and considered so by most serious historians. Again, SK just can’t take rational debate. “Go live in Yemen?” Seriously? Just keep going. Really. I think most who read this will see who the fanatics are. You make our case for us better than we do. I fought with the Aryan Nation and the KKK on the streets of Orlando years ago. I really think you’d fit right in with them. Sad.

  22. “It is a myth that Muslims fought on the side of Hitler.” – Clueless Joe Shmo

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You are so ignorant, Clueless Joe. Here’s a book for you to read: “Icon of Evil: Hitler’s Mufti and the Rise of Radical Islam,” by David G. Dalin (2008). Educate yourself, you brainwashed little worm.

Oh wow – You’re a neo-Nazi? When you “fought with the KKK” did you carry a KKKoran? Nope, it’s you who STILL “fits in” with your neo-Nazi/KKK brethren. They hate Jews just as much as the Muslims. You’re a sad, pathetic little worm. Why don’t you move to Yemen where you’d also “fit in?” A perfect fit. But, be careful! The intolerant Mohammedans don’t like “Kuffar” too much!

  23. I do not want to hear your english translations of the Koran, as they fail to adequately contextualize the points being conveyed. Displaying the mental capacity of an infant, some have made inaccurate generalizations about a culture of which you know nothing about. Let them speak! No harm will come. It takes two to instill a belief, and anyone swayed by a simple minded organization such as this lacks the cognitive fortitude to make a difference anyway. Appreciate the differences, as it is all we have left now.

  24. To the Mohammedan Narcissist above, who actually believes that Islam is “superior”:

Does one need to know Greek to understand the Pythagorean Theorem, or German to understand Einstein’s Theory of Relativity? Of course not. By extension, one does not need to know Arabic to understand the Koran. Arabic is a language that can be translated just like any other. So, people, don’t buy into that “Oh, you cannot understand” Muslim BS which is just another attempt at trying to persuade Westerners’ that they’re too dense to comprehend the “Kill the Infidels” Koran, which is easy and simple to understand. In short, it’s a war manual written by a Warlord, against all non-Muslims, which is what “Jihad” – Islamic Holy War – is all about.

The Koran’s content displays the mental capacity of an infant, as an illiterate Warlord dictated it to others who wrote on rocks and leaves. But of course there’s several Korans, all formulated by a group of men into the 8th and 9th centuries:

Of course everyone knows about Islamic culture – it sucks. You haven’t invented or created anything in 1400 years. You are parasites leeching off the West and it’s myriad of advances and discoveries in science, medicine, and technology. Hey – if your Islamic culture is so great, why aren’t you there, Muslim? Why are you residing in Infidel-Land? Hypocrite.

“Let them speak!” lol! What are you, the dictator who decides who speaks? Of course we’re going to speak, and do, and your little permission slip has NOTHING to do with it. It’s called: The First Amendment to the Constitution.

“What is freedom of expression? Without the freedom to offend, it doesn’t exist.” – Sir Salman Rushdie

That “fatwa” on Rushdie from you “religion of peace” folks just says it all about free-speech-hating Islam. And of course all of the numerous “fatwas” post-Rushdie, such as the Mohammed Cartoonists’ in Denmark. You people are sick, Islam has made you so.

  25. “Displaying the mental capacity of an infant, some have made inaccurate generalizations about a culture of which you know nothing about. ”

Someone who thinks that the Koran – which says the the Sun sets in a mud pool – is the infallible word of God may have the mental capacity of an infant. Guess what, we know more about Islam, about Muhammad, and about the Koran than you apologists for Islam do.

  26. Islam has nothing to do with God. Islam worships a pre-Islamic pagan moon deity “al-ilah,” which Warlord Mo used to give his mass-murder political ideology religious status.

Poor misguided brainwashed Islamic Barbarians. Why don’t you go back to your own Islamic cesspools, since you love your non-existent moon god so much? Well? Why are you here? “al-ilah” wants you to be in it’s countries!

  27. Just to clarify. When I say fought with, read AGAINST! Moron. We helped defend a Synagogue and protest recent attacks on interracial couples.

  28. Too bad you won’t defend Jews against Muslims. Did you know that in France, 50% of the hate crimes against Jews are carried out by Muslims, who are only 10% of the population?

That’s some nice peaceful religion you’ve got there.

  29. Dutch Patriot and SK, I’d be surprised to find out you weren’t being paid by the likes of Geller, Spencer or Horowitz…too bad if you’re not; in that, they value backwards, brainwashed…for a lack of better words, fools…just like yourselves. I agree with Joe, you guys make our case better than we do.

  30. “This may come as news to you, but Islam is not a race. It’s a religion and an ideology. Attacking Islam is about as racist as attacking other ideologies, like national socialism or communism, or other religions, like Christianity.”

Well then. I guess the Nazis weren’t racist then. After all, the Jews and Slavs that they murdered were just as white as they were.

  31. Mrs. Lenin: What exactly is your case? I haven’t seen anything. And no, please don’t go back to SocialistWorker.org to see what you are supposed to believe. Interesting that you are completely unable to refute anything that has been proved about Islam. Just like Joe. He was so outraged about people saying that Muslims fought for Hitler, then I gave him a BBC-reference, then we never heard anything about that again. Poor Joe.

Jack: The Nazis were the quintessential racists (which actually originally means someone who has theories about which races are better than others). Race is more than just skin color. The Nazis did regard Jews and Slavs as inferior races, despite the fact that the color of their skin did not differ (much) from that of the supposed Aryans. Interestingly, Persians and Indians were regarded as Aryans, despite their darker skin color.

So yes, the Nazis WERE racists. Their opposition was not aimed at an ideology (like Islam), but at races. And that is extremely stupid. On the other hand, it’s common sensical to evaluate ideologies, especially when they inspire as much violence, tyranny and vileness as Islam.

  32. Geert Wilders… I mean Dutch Patriot:

“Race is more than just skin color.”

World religions are more than just beliefs. They encompass identity, culture, and historical background. Islamophobia is racism. Presenting Muslims as a monolith who actively seek to oppress all non-Muslims is no different than the racist, Nazi conspiracy theory of the “International Jew.”

The fact that you’re pointing out that some Muslims “fought for the Nazis” is completely irrelevant. What about all the German Christians who WERE Nazis!? By your logic we should blame the Holocaust and WWII on Christianity.

  33. Jack: Thank you for comparing me to Geert Wilders. Geert Wilders is a hero, who is withstanding death threats, social ostracism and persecution to tell the truth about Islam. I am proud to have voted for him. By the way, we just got a new right-wing government that is supported by Wilders.

As for your argument about racism, it makes no sense whatsoever. Neither criticism of identity, culture or historical background is “racism” or has anything to do with race. It is interesting that Islam has the distinction of being the only religion that has had a word coined for criticism of it, as well as having the privilege of attacking any of its critics as ‘racists’. No one calls critics of Christianity racists. Learn from this.

I did not present “Muslims” as a monolith trying to dominate the world. Not everyone who calls himself a Muslim follows the teachings of Islam, thank God. But it’s an indisputable fact that the Koran teaches exactly what you say Muslims do not do, namely the active seeking of oppression of all non-Muslims. It is also worth pointing out that the Nazi conspiracy theories were aimed at the race of the Jews, and not their religion. Again, try to know what you are talking about, before spewing complete and absolute nonsense.

Your friend Joe claimed that it was a “myth” that Muslims fought for Hitler. Turns out, it wasn’t such a myth after all. It looks like this is the second line of defense used by the politically correct. There were no Christian divisions of the SS – the Nazis had nothing with Christianity. There was one Muslim division, Hanschar. The Nazis had nothing with Islam either, but they sure appreciated Muslims, and the Muslims appreciated them, most notably the mufti of Jerusalem.

  34. I am a student at Temple University and find all of the comments in this blog pointless because there is no discussion. I have a severe problem with self-proclaimed Marxists and Socialists who have historically (at least at Temple University) been responsible for suppressing real discussion about academic issues relevant to society today. The idea that since you disagree with an ideology you can simply suppress it or censor it is a direct offense against the freedoms given to the people of this great nation. To directly squash or censor views would be in direct conflict with what America was built upon and founded for. The modern research University is filled with instances wherein professors stifle students to challenge the academic process by truly assessing both sides to the argument. I commend TU Purpose for being one of the only active organizations at Temple University committed to bi-partisanship which so many groups do their best to categorize as being bigots. It is quite pathetic when a student interested in discussing truly important current issues in our society from a perspective other than the Marxian view is disregarded as a bigot or a racist. I pose this question… how do you believe Marxian views came about? The ideology has solidified itself as acceptable ‘truth’ when in fact it is no more than a political ideology similar to the modern conservative. What I find most amusing is when these left-wing liberals argue against the ONE, THE ONLY EVENT WHICH TRULY SHOWS THE OTHER SIDE, a side which is shared by millions of Americans. To simply dismiss these views as originating from ‘bigots’ or ‘racists’ is just as idiotic as any other instance wherein real academic progress is stifled by name-calling and ignorance. If your views are so ‘perfect’ why do you need fear the expression of other views? The bigger issue I see is not this particular instance but what this stands for. When we censor opposing views or simply dismiss them on non-factual simple minded stereotypes we only further impede progress and the real social change you claim to ‘endorse’. As an example modern left-wing– in your infinite wisdom you have given your views ample resources to proliferate and prosper from feminism to the idea that gender is socially constructed. Similarly to the issue explained above, this again disregards a whole field of study in neuroscience which indicates huge and significant differences between men and woman. The funny thing is, in your idea that ‘equality and love’ will prosper, you use one of the oldest forms of tyranny known to man, censorship. One can only infer that this hypocrisy is to avoid factual evidence if it doesn’t suit your own idea of ‘right and wrong’. Grow up.
