Suspect in near-campus murder sought

A warrant has been issued for a suspect in connection with a murder that happened on the edge of Temple’s Main Campus late last month. Philadelphia police are seeking Neil Gardner, 30, for the murder

A warrant has been issued for a suspect in connection with a murder that happened on the edge of Temple’s Main Campus late last month.

Philadelphia police are seeking Neil Gardner, 30, for the murder of Raheen Taylor on Nov. 29. At 4:30pm, Temple University police responded to a call of shots fired on the 2000 block on North 11th Street, near Norris Street. When they arrived, Taylor was brought to Temple Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:03pm.

Flowers and stuffed animals were displayed outside of the Norris Homes last week, though Taylor is a resident of the 1900 block of North 32nd Street, near Berks.

Gardner is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Gardner should contact Homicide detectives at (215) 686-3068.
