Al Shrier, who began working at Temple athletics department in 1953, was the longest-tenured NCAA sports information director at the time of his retirement in June 2018.
The football program had its first first-round NFL Draft pick since 2011, the women’s basketball team made the NCAA Tournament and the men’s soccer program played its final season under David MacWilliams.
Dupree, who played from 2002-06 and ranks in the top seven of program history in points and rebounding, had her uniform retired at halftime of the Owls’ 87-60 loss to the University of South Carolina on Thursday at the Liacouras Center.
