Jeanes Nurses United announced a strike vote for Thursday after negotiations with Temple Health failed to address their staffing, safety and wage concerns.
The university and faculty union are continuing discussions regarding a new four-year contract and have established negotiation dates for the next month.
The university and union are trading extension offers to secure more time to negotiate without concerns of a strike and receive a fair wage increase and benefits to job security.
After three offers since January, the Temple Association of University Professionals and the university have yet to come to an agreement over the union’s contract, which expired in October.
