Coach Fran Dunphy’s 13-year tenure with the Owls ended with an 81-70 loss to Belmont University in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio.
Freshman forward De’Vondre Perry played a career-high 21 minutes and scored a career-high nine points in Temple’s 81-78 against St. Joseph’s at the Liacouras Center on Saturday.
Sophomore guard Ramone Moore scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in Temple’s 75-67 overtime win against Saint Joseph’s. Moore’s layup at the end of regulation sent the game into OT.
The men’s basketball team opened the Atlantic Ten Conference portion of its schedule with a 73-46 defeat of rival Saint Joseph’s. The Owls dominated inside thanks to 20 points and 11 rebounds from Lavoy Allen and a career-high 13 points from Micheal Eric.
