Part-Time and Summer Job Fair

Career Development Services (CDS) will sponsor a Part-Time/Summer Job Fair next Wednesday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Great Court of Mitten Hall.
An estimated 35 corporations from mainly Pennsylvania and New Jersey will partake in the job fair.
Students interested in filling only a part-time position or wishing to earn some extra money during the summer months will be given the opportunity to meet and discuss their future employment status with these local companies.
Tracy Fleming, a career coordinator with CDS, noted that these part-time or summer positions can lead to full-time employment with a corporation. These employment opportunities will give students the chance to make a reasonable salary while also giving students job experiences that rival that of internships.
While there are no specific statistics as to the success of employment from these fairs, Fleming said, “the employers who attend are always happy with the Temple University students and seem to come back every year to hire more Temple students.”
Students of all majors are encouraged to attend with the recommended business professional dress attire. While no prior registration is required, resumes and Temple identification cards are needed.
Help in preparing a resume for the fair can be found at the CDS office on the second floor in Mitten Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A complete list of companies attending can be found at www.temple.edu/careerdev.

The April 2 teach-in will feature Dean Susan Herbst on “Media and Public Opinion in American Politics.” All teach-ins are open to the public.
