American Heart Association Walk

Temple University Health System is the main sponsor of this year’s American Heart Association Walk. This Sunday, Sept. 23 Philadelphia residents are welcome to take part in a 6.2 mile walk around Fairmount Park, about 3 laps around the course. All donations go to the study of heart attacks and stroke.
Registration for the walk begins at 8 a.m. at Memorial Hall and the walk starts at 9 a.m. Last year, Director of Marketing for Temple Health Systems Andy Smith said the association raised more than $600,000 and between 400,000 and 500,000 people participated. He expects the same turnout this year.
Ambler campus students, faculty and staff have raised $5,000 for the Heart Association and will be sending a few dozen people to the walk on Sunday. The bus from Ambler will leave at 7 a.m. from parking lot two near the library.
