Karen E. Quinones: No is NOT an Answer!
Best Selling Author Set to Deliver Two New Books After Changing Publisher

PHILADELPHIA – How does a woman raised in Harlem, forced to enter the navy, and fond of mean-street gang bangers “thumb her nose to the world?” By doing the unexpected.
Meet Karen E. Quinones Miller: an independent woman, inspired ink abuser, and best-selling author. On the verge of releasing her fifth and sixth books, Going For It All and An Angry Ass Black Woman, Miller sat down to discuss her new book, and more importantly her life.
Considered by Miller to be a “venting mechanism”, writing novels has done more then serve as a therapeutic apparatus; it has made her one rich “Angry Ass Black Woman.”
Busting on the scene in 2001 with Satin Doll, Miller has not looked back as she has published four bestsellers in less than five years. Her newest edition Going For It All is the much-awaited sequel to Satin Doll.
The question has to arrive as to how Miller can continue to put such strong emotions down on paper without hitting a dry spell. Well anyone who knows anything about Miller knows the answer to that question. Fellow author, L. Nixon McConnell, praised Miller by saying, “She (Miller) consistently delivers a wonderful read. Her characters are real, raw, and reminiscent of people you know.”
The tale of Miller’s own life is even more impressive then those of the characters in her books. A true rag to riches story, Miller went from an eight-grade dropout to a highly acclaimed novelist.
Miller has even stayed true to her roots by giving back overwhelmingly to the community. Miller donates about ninety percent of her profits to charity, mainly to grassroots organizations. When asked to explain her motive for donating so much, Miller said, “I don’t need a Lexus. Why do I want one? I don’t believe in hording money.”
An inspiration to all who come across her, Millers brother Joe Quinones was quoted as saying, “I think my sister’s ability to transform herself so many times speaks to (her) ability to adapt, improvise, and overcome any situation.”
Due to popular demand, Miller has been forced to go against her original convictions and finally make the sequel that all of her fans have been begging for since the release of Satin Doll. Miller said, “I’ve received emails, letters, and phone calls asking for a sequel.” Miller’s fans are very excited that the life of Regina Harris, the main character in the book, will be continued.
Originally, the book entitled An Angry Ass Black Woman was set to be the next release for Miller. However, due to some disclosed discrepancies with her former publishing company Simon and Schuster, Miller has switched publishers. She recently inked a two-book deal with Time Warner. Time Warner preferred Going For It All first and Miller granted their wish.
Miller added, “Yes, I’ve left Simon and Schuster. I can’t say even one bad word about them, though. (Simon and Schuster) is a great publisher, and really knows how to treat their authors, but it was just time for me to move on.”
Going for It All is set to be released in April of 2006, while An Angry Ass Black Woman will see a 2007 debut. As Miller continues to work on her upcoming novels, her fans are waiting anxiously on the edge of their seats.
Miller has risen above all of the trials and tribulations her life has shoved her way, and has, in this writer’s eyes, already Got It All!
