The legendary cafe, which has been open for nearly 40 years, is keeping legends alive in holding its yearly Battle of the Bands competition. This round, housed at HRC’s Philadelphia location, is one of the final battles before the remaining bands win the opportunity to rock out in London, the cafe’s homeland, in June.

Three bands – Cheap Seats, Third Wire and Honor – will be duking it out in the restaurant’s stage to patrons, fans and rock ‘n’ roll snobs. Cheap Seats, a five-man band hailing from Philadelphia has been described as a mixture of pop and soul. According to its website, Third Wire plays alternative rock with a twist of heavy musicality and “lingering infectious grooves.” Honor, the Philadelphia-based headlining band is comprised of four musicians, with a sound described as similar to Tool, Led Zeppelin and Alice in Chains.

There is no entrance fee, so don’t hold back from splurging on one of HRC’s many legendary burgers and classic milkshakes. All ages are welcome. The event begins at 9 p.m.
