A crazy, seemingly insane idea is what is presented at www.cuadp.org (Citizens United Against the Death Penalty). The site is undoubtedly the most comprehensive, useful and informative anti-D.P. site one could ever hope to find.
The execution information page has update information on trials, execution dates, pending dates and past execution information. A resource section offers a bridge to academic resources, though, of course, information that is only from an abolitionist perspective.
Click on ‘Wrongly Executed’ and you will find a sickeningly long list of names. Each name also links to full information about the deceased’s case and history.
The ‘Abolition Wear’ catalogue is by far the dankest part of the site. Here you will find the only comprehensive source for buttons, hats, shirts, stickers and signs that champion death penalty opposition. No one likes to kill people, so hop on, buy something or get more information because this is definitely the best place to start.
Last week’s web watch is posted this week.
Magical Plastic Money Squares
www.studentcredit.com
Grade: A
If you don’t have one, someone wants you to sign up for one. Yes, those things people peddle all around campus. No, not frat party flyers but magical plastic money squares. In this age it’s hard to get along without at least one.
Yep, credit cards are becoming integral parts of the quintessential college experience. One web site is here, though, to help students in their battle not to end up in “Debt Land:”
Everything under the APR rainbow is here at one’s fingertips at www.studentcredit.com.
When logging on, be sure to sign up for the free membership, which enters you in the “Debt Pay Off Fresh Start” contest. The contest offers to pay off the debts of ten winning students. Most importantly, there is enough information to teach a giraffe about the importance of managing and maintaining good credit. There is also a link to www.studentloan.com, which offers information on Federal Stafford loans, PLUS loans and private loans from Nellie Mae.
