It may only be the third week of the semester, but another vacation is approaching quicker than realized: Spring Break.

Last year, 90 percent of spring inventory was sold out by hotels and travel agents prior to winter break.

That’s why now is the time to make plans if you haven’t already done so.

Online, plans can be made in the comfort of ones’ own home, saving trips to travel agencies.

Lower costs aren’t sacrificed, however. Travel agency discounted prices can be found just as easily at certain web sites if one knows where to look.

Springbreaktravel.com is one such web site. Although the site offers a limited number of locations, it does offer comprehensive package deals.

Packages include a Bahamas Party Cruise, a Cancun or Jamaica vacation, as well as a Florida holiday (Panama City, Daytona Beach, or South Beach).

Springbreaktravel is brightly designed, featuring photos of vacationers at advertised locations. An online calculator narrows down the price to be paid for one-week package deal. A detailed listing of what is provided and what is needed on the trips is also extremely helpful.

Gospringbreak.com, on the other hand, features more locations, such as London, Acapulco, and South Padre Island, TX, in addition to the ever-popular Cancun and Bahamas featured on springbreaktravel.com.

This site is more for the traveler who cares to go through choosing each step separately, as in deciding where to stay and how to get there.

Through Gospringbreak.com, side trips such as a Ziggy Marley concert in Jamaica or a snorkeling expedition in Florida can be purchased. The site is helpful for the student with limited funds. By becoming a rep for the site, you can earn commission or a free trip.

Doing so is not necessary to take advantage of the deals at Gospringbreak.com.

Another site, 4SpringBreak.com is the ideal place to find links to travel information. Links to 13 travel sites according to location and interests
are featured.

Unlike springbreaktravel.com and Gospringbreak.com, this site features fewer resorts, and more regular motels. Links to sites for Best Westerns and Holiday Inns are quite useful for the traveler on a smaller budget.

Unique to the site are aspects of spring break beyond hotels and flight accommodations. Links to sites on safe sex and condom use are also included.

For those more interested in helping others during the break, there is also a link to a volunteerism site, which includes ways to travel the country helping out.

For a more cultured holiday, smartraveler.com provides a great choice of locales, including many cities in Europe not featured on the previously mentioned sites. This site is for vacations at all times, and is not limited to spring break. It also contains links to hotels listed by price, name,
and rating.

A unique aspect, not found on the previously mentioned sites, is the news section.

Along the same lines as smarttraveler.com, yet a bit stodgier than all of the previous sites, is Fodors.com.

Not limited to spring break, it provides the greatest number of locations, as well as the most regional and historical information. Fodors.com provides relevant arts and museum information for family fun.

A listing of the addresses and phone numbers of clubs and bars, as well as maps to them, are provided, adding a youthful touch to the overall site.

With that in mind there is only one logical thing left to do. Book spring break right now. While springbreaktravel, gospringbreak, and 4springbreak are strictly for that glorious week in March, smarttraveler and fodors can be of use year round.

Remember, it’s never too early to get on-line and get ready for another wonderful and memorable vacation.
