Ed Baldwin, the former head coach at UNC-Charlotte, was named associate head coach of the Temple women’s basketball team on Monday.

Baldwin, 47, takes over for Shawn Campbell who left Temple for the head coach position at Western Kentucky over the summer.

“Coach Baldwin will be a great addition to our coaching staff,” said Head Coach Dawn Staley. “He brings a vast amount of experience and knowledge as a basketball coach to our program.”

Baldwin coached at UNC-Charlotte for 13 years, compiling a 175-191 record. He is the all-time winningest coach in the school’s history.

After starting his coaching career at Raleigh’s Broughton High School, Baldwin coached at North Carolina State as an assistant to Kay Yow. Baldwin helped recruit three current WNBA players while at N.C. State.
