Tylenol scholarship applications now available
Applications are now being accepted for the Tylenol Brand Scholarship, which is available to students studying for health-related careers.

The application deadline is April 30 and interested students can receive one of 160 total grants from the company, including 10 grants worth $10,000 each.

Applications will be available from Feb. 15 through March 31. Information and applications can be found at CVS, Eckerd, K-Mart, Rite Aid, Target, Wal-Mart and Walgreen’s. Students can also go to www.tylenol.com for more information.

Winners will be selected on the basis of leadership in community and school activities, grade point average, and intended focus on health-care related areas of study.

Winners will be notified by the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc., by July 15, 2002.

New V.P. for Student Affairs and Medical School Dean named
Dr. Theresa A. Powell and Dr. Richard J. Kozera were recently named Vice president for Student Affairs and acting Dean of the School of Medicine, respectively.

Powell will take her post on April 1, replacing Dr. Valaida Walker, who retired after 28 years with Temple.

Powell, who left the same position at Western Michigan University to join Temple, will be responsible for the services and programs available to Temple’s more than 29,000 students.

Kozera, who has served as executive dean of the School of Medicine for 15 years, will be entering the role of interim dean for the third time since 1991.

Prior to that, he served as senior associate dean for Academic Affairs.

Kozera will retain the position until the University finishes the search for a new dean.
