The Temple Owls open Big East play with its toughest opponent all season, the Miami Hurricanes, noon this Saturday at Franklin Field.
Temple head coach Bobby Wallace, in his fifth season at Temple, is 13-33 and Miami’s Larry Coker is a perfect 14-0 in his second season at the helm. Wallace is 0-4 all-time against Miami, while Coker is 1-0 versus the Owls.
Injuries: Temple’s DT Robert Sack is out with a sprained ankle; WR Sean Dillard (sprained ligament in left knee) and DE Tyrone Ditzel (strained knee), are both probable.
Miami will have to do without quarterback Ken Dorsey’s favorite target, wide receiver Andre Johnson, who will be side-lined with a shoulder injury.
Players to watch: Temple’s RB Tanardo Sharps could move into fourth place on the Temple all-time rushing list with nine yards, wide out Zamir Cobb is averaging 25.2 yards per punt return.
For Miami, DB Maurice Sikes had two interceptions against Florida, one of which he returned 97 yards for a touchdown.
