Internet2 Day @ Temple
Internet2 Day at Temple University will be held in Ritter Hall in the Kiva Auditorium on Wednesday, March 26.
Internet2 is a new high-speed network that provides academic and research
information among university and scientific communities.
Temple University is participating in the Internet2 project.
8:30 a.m.: Registration and refreshments.
9:00 a.m.: Conference welcome and agenda with Temple Professor of Computer and Information Sciences Gene Kwatny.
9:05 a.m.: “Initiative at Temple” with Temple Vice President for Computer and Information Services Timothy O’Rourke.
9:15 a.m.: “Internet2 and Advanced Research & Education Applications.”
10:00 a.m.: “Regional High-Performance Networking Update and Initiatives.”
10:30 a.m.: Break with refreshments.
10:45 a.m.: “Next Generation Networking: Health in the Fast Lane.”
11:30 a.m.: Internet2 at Temple: “The Network Landscape and Getting Access”
12:15 p.m.: Lunch
1:15 p.m.: Videoconference and Demonstration featuring a live rehearsal/demonstration by a musician from the New World Symphony Orchestra.
This week’s teach-in
A weekly teach-in to discuss current political events is being held every Friday by Professor Ralph Young and students in his Dissent in America class.
This week, the teach-in will focus will be on the future of Iraq with special attention to the situation of the Kurds.
