At Temple Student Government’s 11th meeting of the year, Naeem Thompson, Chairman of TSG’s Internal Operations committee, announced the unanimous decision to impeach Allocations Chairperson Jamie Shamrock after hearings.
Shamrock’s failure to fulfill her duties set by TSG’s guidelines led to her impeachment. General assembly members now have to vote in order for Shamrock to be removed from office.
In other TSG affairs, TSG President Bryan Carter introduced two executive resolutions regarding Temple University’s admissions procedures and student advising services.
According to Resolution 21-01-104, TSG will “advocate for the immediate development of a group of experienced high ranking individuals to serve as a task force to evaluate University Admissions’ efforts and make recommendations concerning the recruitment of legitimate ‘minority’ candidates.”
In addition, Carter introduced Resolution 21-01-105 regarding student advising services at Temple. The resolution stipulated that TSG play a role in developing a task force to evaluate Temple’s various advising departments and make changes within them in response to student complaints.
Also, Temple University Executive Vice President Clarence Armbrister was the guest administrator. Armbrister outlined his duties as Vice President and his responsibilities for such departments as Student Affairs, Computer Services, Enrollment Management, Office of Affirmative Action and Intercollegiate Athletics.
Community Service Committee chair Cynthia Desir announced CPR certification available to students on Dec. 11 and 12 on a first come, first serve basis in the Student Center from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
