Philly stabber sells rights to Sony

It wasn’t long ago, Dirt-mongers, that 19-year-old Jasmine Karo went Lizzie Borden on pops in their Philadelphia home. After stabbing him to death the city rallied behind her and a score of witnesses convinced a grand jury that daddy dearest had a history of abuse.

Cleared of murder charges, Zap2it.com reports that Karo has sold the rights to her story to Sony Pictures for an undisclosed amount.

“We were very hesitant because we wanted to make sure it wasn’t going to be simply a tabloid,” said Karo’s attorney Robert DePersia on why the pair chose Sony. No cast has been announced nor have production dates been released for the flick.

Gwyneth better thief than Madonna

Hip-gone-Brit gal pals Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna were like twins last year: both headlining on the West End, floating ’round London in Mercedes town cars, sporting track suits and yoga mats with macrobiotic thermoses. But sibling rivalry has reared its ugly head.

London-based television network Channel 4, reports that Paltrow beat out Madge for the role of British diamond thief “Godmother” Joan Hannington.

The film will draw from Hannington’s biography, “I Am What I Am,” which details her burglarizing more than $5 million in jewelry in the 80s for which she served 18 months in prison.

Madge’s hubby and famed director Guy Ritchie was reportedly after the rights for his Material Girl.

“They wanted Guy Ritchie to buy it, so Madonna could play me. Number one, she can’t act. Two, she can’t do a Cockney accent and Gwyneth can,” Hannington said.

Blimey! For now see Gwyneth in another biopic, Sylvia, and look for Madonna’s second children’s book, “Mr. Peabody’s Apples,” which is rumored to be coming to the big screen.

Talk about…

Perhaps it was too much turkey, but America’s Topic A is turning my stomach: Michael Jackson. I can’t live, kids, ask me later…instead shall we talk about Ozzy Osbourne’s sexual abuse?

International Movie Database reports that the aged rocker has come clean about abuse as a child. At 11-years-old, Ozzy said two older boys would await him on his walk home from school in Birmingham, England.

“They felt me and touched me…it was terrible,” Osbourne said.

Or perhaps we’ll discuss the divabitchmonster antics of Sharon Stone on the set of Halle Berry’s Catwoman? The Database also reported that Stone is “causing havoc” on the Vancouver shoot with such hellish demands as last-minute rewrites and more elaborate costumes. Meow!
