Imagine, if you will, a store where you can find the latest and greatest in CD releases and the snazziest stash of vinyl this side of Sun Records. If you’re anything like me and this sounds like heaven, then AKA Music is the place to go.

AKA Music is Philadelphia’s premier and swankiest of record shops. Located in the heart of Old City. AKA Music is home to one of the best CD and vinyl collections in the city.

All genres are covered: blues, hip-hop, pop, rap, rock and everything in between. Prices are realistic and range between $13-15 for new discs.

Two floors of CDs make it the double-decker of disc heaven. While visiting the second floor, be sure to check out the store’s fan-friendly collection of vinyl. Vintage cuts for the folks are placed side-by-side fresh-baked goodies for the kids.

Re-released and new vinyl are neatly stacked and placed in piles against the back wall. If shelling out $15-20 for a new record isn’t your deal, fear not. There are plenty of used records to choose from as well.

AKA Music is the real deal and certainly worth the trip any day of the week.
