PROFESSOR SPEAKING AT WOODMERE ART MUSUEM
Gerard Silk, professor in Temple’s art history department, will be a guest lecturer in part of Woodmere Art Museum’s “Elements of Art” lecture series.
The March 5 lecture, “Sensation: Anatomy of a Culture War.” will focus on the major furor over young British artists from the Saatchi collection.
Tickets are available at the door the day of the lecture, space permitting. Members pay $5; non-members, $10. Reservations can be made by calling the Education Department at 215-247-0948. The Woodmere Art Museum is located at 9201 Germantown Avenue, in Chestnut Hill.
2001 JPRA AWARDS: AND THE WINNER IS… YOU!
Each spring, Temple University’s JPRA department honors its students with 130 awards and $25,000-$30,000 in scholarships.
Applications for the JPRA Awards will be available to all interested students on the first and third floors of Annenberg beginning the week of Feb. 19. The deadline for application submissions is Fri., March 2. No applications will be accepted after the due date. Students and faculty may nominate people for any of the awards.
When all of the applications are collected, the department selection committee will match the most qualified applicants to the awards available. The JPRA awards ceremony will be held April 19, 2001.
UPCOMING TSG EVENTS: STUDENT GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS
Election Packets for the upcoming student government elections will go out on Feb. 19 at 5 p.m. and are due back March 1, 5 p.m. (The is the Petitioning Process, any proposed candidate can pick up a packet at any time between these two dates.) Applications can be picked up in SAC room 230.
Elections will be held on April 10 and 11 The locations of the polling places are TBA.
TEMPLE CULTURE FEST FEBRUARY 27th
Auditions will be held for the Cultural Talent Competition on Feb. 19 and 20 in SAC Room 302 at 3:30 p.m.
