Coach Al Golden and the football team completed a four-year journey from a 1-11 season in 2006 to a nine-game winning streak and likely bowl berth.

The football team defeated Kent State, 47-13, for its ninth straight win. Freshman running back Matt Brown replaced injured back Bernard Pierce and ran for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Friday’s game against Ohio will determine the MAC East.
