British pop star Craig David has done it again; only this time he did it with more upbeat and melodic flavor.
David’s sophomore album, Slicker Than Your Average, brings together a superb collaboration of hip-hop and R&B.
Slicker Than Your Average is a mixture of upbeat, funk-induced cuts like “What’s Your Flavor,” “Eenie Meenie” and “Fast Cars;” while songs like “Personal” and “What’s Changed” are more touching and heartwarming.
Much to the joy of Sting fans, Slicker Than Your Average also brings to the table a collaboration between Sting and David called ” Rise & Fall.”
David also sings to Stings’ 1993 hit “Shape of My Heart.”
The first of six tracks on Slicker Than Your Average get listeners hooked and riled up with upbeat tempos.
As the album progresses, the songs become more subtle and poignant, giving the listener a more relaxed and tender feeling.
With this successful formula, it is safe to say Craig David has avoided the dreaded sophomore release jinx.
