Shahid Paulhill, a defensive end at North Catholic High, gave the football team a verbal commitment Saturday after observing the Owls defeat Northern Illinois, 16-15, at Lincoln Financial Field.
Paulhill became the 13th player to commit as part of the 2008 class, joining offensive lineman Ryan Murray as the second player from Philadelphia.
The 6-foot-4, 275 pound Paulhill has tallied 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks and blocked a field goal this season for North Catholic. Also used as a tight end, Paulhill has one reception for 14 yards.
At Saturday’s game, Paulhill watched former teammate Daryl Robinson rush for a career-high 71 yards on 14 touches. Robinson took the bulk of the carries in the second half, after Jason Harper failed to establish much of running game in the first half and fumbled for the sixth time this season.
