Temple freshmen Chris Caruso and Megan Witwer won the co-ed division of the Atlantic 10 Conference ShootOut last Wednesday during halftime of the Temple-Massachusetts game at the Liacouras Center.
Caruso and Witwer will travel to Dayton March 13-15 to compete against the other A-10 coed champions, consisting of one pair from each school, for $10,000.
The Shoot Out, sponsored by GMAC, Nautica Competition, New Balance, US Airways and the local Domino’s, Hostess and Pepsi, gave prizes to students in three divisions – coed, male and female.
Each team consisted of two Temple students who had to shoot baskets from various spots on the court.
Chaz Gree and Justin Campbell won the male division and Chizzy Ogbokwe and Nabila Whack won the female division at Villanova’s Pavilion on Feb. 25.
All four students received airline ticket vouchers from U.S. Airways.
