Temple students waited in line all night outside of the Liacouras Center on Monday to be the first to buy men’s basketball season tickets Tuesday morning.

Students lined the street in tents, with sofas and televisions carrying on the Morning Madness tradition.

Doors opened at 6 a.m. for students to buy tickets and then watch a legendary men’s basketball practice with Hall of Fame Coach John Chaney.

The women’s team, and Coach Dawn Staley, practiced with the men. The teams scrimmaged each other 5-on-5 and played a game of 2Ball, in which a player from the men’s team and one from the women’s team are paired up in a shooting competition.

Guards Lynn Greer and Natalia Isaac, probably the best shooters from each team, teamed up to win the competition.

The men’s season starts on Nov. 5 and the women’s a day later.

The Temple News will publish a special 12-page basketball preview section on Thursday, Nov. 8.
