Philadelphia Police officer Moses Walker Jr. was shot to death Saturday morning shortly after leaving work, police said.
Police said that at 5:56 a.m., Walker, 40, was shot several times around 20th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. He was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.The 19-year veteran worked in the 22nd District, which is headquartered at 17th Street and Montgomery Avenue, and had finished up his tour just before the incident.
$30,000 in awards have been announced so far by the city and the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police for the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
