Career Fairs

Career Development Services and the Russian Club have scheduled seminars to make students’ job searches less stressful and more manageable.
The Russian Club will be holding its “Internship Opportunities with Russian/International Businesses” March 26 in Speakman Hall, room 201, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The seminar will help students develop the skills and the edge needed to attain their ideal internship. Also, an interview technique workshop will be available for all students who wish to hone their interview skills.
Career Development Services will sponsor a career fair at the Liacouras Center March 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students who plan on attending this fair must dress professionally and come equipped with their resume and Temple identification card.
Stressing the importance of internships and co-ops, Janel Bowles, a career coordinator at CDS, noted that the fair will allow students to engage in a meet-and-greet with over 100 corporations. It will also give students a “first hand look at the jobs that are available and give them a really good idea of what the job market is really like,” Bowles said.
A complete list of corporations can be found at www.temple.edu/careerdev/cfsu.htm.

Friday Teach-In

Every Friday from 3:40 p.m. to 5 p.m. Professor Ralph Young and the students in his Dissent in America class hold a weekly teach-in in Gladfelter 915 to discuss the historical background to current political issues.
The March 26 lecture will feature Professor Barbara Day-Hickman on “Revolutionaries: Visionaries or Terrorists.” She will be discussing the French Revolution and the age of romantic revolutionaries.
