The city’s biggest museums run along the scenic Benjamin Franklin Parkway, just minutes away from Temple’s main campus!

The Philadelphia Museum of Art, one of the largest in the United States, is the most renowned museum in the city.

With more than 200 galleries to explore, visitors should make more than one trip to see everything. For the college student’s budget, check out the Museum on Sundays when the admission price is free, or as the museum puts it, “pay what you wish.”

If you fancy yourself as quite the science buff, The Franklin Institute Science Museum will be no disappointment. Named after renowned inventor and scientist Benjamin Franklin, the institute is packed with endless exhibits allowing visitors to explore the latest in the world’s greatest feats in science and technology.

One of the Franklin Institute’s most exciting exhibits includes a digitally animated show of lights and sounds, Sonicvision, which is held in the museums planetarium on Friday and Saturday nights featuring music from Radiohead, U2, White Zombie, and more.

Other exciting and popular museums include the African American Museum, the Academy of Natural Science Museum, and the Rodin Museum named after the great French sculpture, Auguste Rodin, and is filled with one of the largest collections of Rodin’s work in the United States.
