TSG administration cleared of charges

The Temple University Disciplinary Committee found Student Body president Therion Baker, Vice President for Academic Affairs Alex Norma, Vice President for Student affairs Charles Postell and Press Director Amit Kalirikade not responsible for charges filed

The Temple University Disciplinary Committee found Student Body president Therion Baker, Vice President for Academic Affairs Alex Norma, Vice President for Student affairs Charles Postell and Press Director Amit Kalirikade not responsible for charges filed against them.

The president and two vice presidents ran under the party name Team Temple.

The defendants were charged with distributing flyers in the dorms without prior approval and also sending messages in the Temple University Listserve, both violations of Temple’s Elections Code.

The UDC found lack of evidence as the sole factor in dismissing the case against the current officers of TSG.

Nicole Viscomi, Nicole Beharry, Steve Gitkos and Allen Chambers appeared as witnesses on behalf of the university.

Viscomi, who was Baker’s opponent in the election, had leveled several allegations of unfair play by both the TSG election commission and the Team Temple campaign.

Chief among the allegations was the decision by the election commission to allow Team Temple to run after the election commission rejected their initial election packet.

The other allegations made by Viscomi involved the manner in which Team Temple conducted its campaign.

Posters without approval stamps were posted in dormitories, including White Hall, 1940, and Johnson and Hardwick in violation of University Housing policy.

Also, email messages were posted to University Listserves, including the Broadcast, Telecommunications and Mass Media, and TSG International lists.
