Commencing from a small neighborhood park, The People’s Uprising, one of many events protesting the G20 Summit in Pittsburgh, brought together hundreds of people to express their sentiments of disapproval against a myriad of issues. These issues, to be discussed during the group of 20 meeting tomorrow, will range from the climate to the economy. Bringing together groups of people, including anarchist dressed completely in black, the city was well prepared with what was estimated to be around an equal amount of heavily armed police officers from cities as far away as Chicago. While tear gas and riot sirens were employed, it was a relatively non-violent. The goal of the protestors were to march as close to the downtown area of the city as they could, while the police were intent on keeping them as far away from the global leaders within.
