Temple is coming off a 16-16 record and first-round American Athletic Conference tournament exit in the 2016-17 season.

Temple ended the 2016-17 season with its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2011. But senior guard Alliya Butts, who averaged 15.5 points per game last season, will miss this year with a torn ACL.

The Owls will play Southern Methodist on Friday in The American’s semifinal.
