If you are looking for an amazing film this year to inspire you and make you a better person, then Grind is not that movie.
But if you are looking for half-naked women, boys with moppy hair, sex jokes and decent skateboarding tricks, then “Grind” is the movie to see.
The film’s protagonists are four young guys who go through the typical “everything goes wrong” adventure to fulfill their skateboarding dreams.
Bad luck follows these young shredders, but they do manage to score some luck with a female skateboarder and a girl who is in the circus.
Grind’s plot isn’t very complicated or interesting.
It is almost comparable to Jackass minus the kick-in-the-crotch laughter.
The actors, all relative unknowns, might have led to the film’s demise.
Professional skateboarder and Jackass veteran Bam Margera makes a cameo role.
Don’t get me wrong, there were many laugh-out-loud scenes in this movie.
We can’t forget the scene where Tom Green plays a stoner who sells skateboards!
The wobbly camerawork and lackluster dialogue makes for a sloppy film.
Save it for a night when you and your friends have nothing else to do but go to the video store.
