I’ve never been so compelled to write back to an opinion columnist as I am after reading your AIM article [“Cell phones, AIM: ball and chain,” Jan. 31].
It really resonated with me. What would we do if we didn’t have AIM to check all the time … and more importantly at times, how frustrating is it when friends don’t update away messages or were online all the time last semester, but aren’t on at all this semester.
It basically summed up that AIM and e-mail have become a way of life in the 21st century and that as a consequence, all privacy goes out the window and your life becomes an open book.
Good job on the AIM piece. I really enjoyed it.
