Former Temple guards Will Cummings and Quenton DeCosey will find themselves paired in the backcourt once again this summer.

Cummings and DeCosey will both play for the San Antonio Spurs 14-man roster in the 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League from Monday to Thursday in Salt Lake City.

DeCosey led the Owls in scoring at 15.9 points per game this past season, ending the year with first team All-American Athletic Conference honors and helping the team reach the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2013.

Cummings, a first team all-conference selection in 2015, played for the Rio Grande Valley Rapids in the NBA Development League this past season. He averaged 20.5 points and 4.8 assists per game on his way to a D-League All-Star selection and all-rookie honors.

DeCosey and Cummings played with each other at Temple from 2012-2015

The pair last played together during the 2014-15 season, when they led Temple to the 2015 National Invitation Tournament semifinals at Madison Square Garden. Cummings and DeCosey were the top two scorers on that team. Cummings led the team in scoring at 14.8 PPG, while DeCosey followed at 12.3 PPG.

DeCosey and Cummings also played with each other on the Owls’ NCAA tournament team in 2013, when DeCosey was a freshman and Cummings was a sophomore.

Chirstmas back on summer league roster

Another former Temple standout, Dionte Christmas, will play for the Jazz summer league team. This is Christmas’ sixth time on an NBA Summer League roster.

Christmas’ last stint in the NBA was with the Cleveland Cavaliers last preseason. Last season he spent time playing in Israel, Greece and Turkey.

The guard played with the Owls from 2005-2009 and led the Atlantic 10 Conference in scoring three times. He was the fourth Temple player to reach the 2,000-point milestone, totaling 2,043 points during his career.

Christmas went undrafted in 2009 and has spent most of his professional career playing overseas. He played 31 games for the Phoenix Suns during the 2013-14 season, averaging 2.3 PPG in 6.4 minutes of action per contest.
